The short answer
Wolf Appliance Services repairs Wolf, Viking, and Thermador wall ovens in homes across Sunnyvale, including ZIP codes 94085, 94086, 94087, and 94089. We diagnose heating, temperature, door lock, control, and convection problems in your kitchen and explain the fix before doing the work.
When a wall oven stops heating, runs hot, or locks its door and won't release, it takes a big part of your kitchen out of service. Wolf Appliance Services repairs built-in wall ovens in Sunnyvale homes, with a focus on Wolf single, double, and combination wall ovens. We also work on Viking and Thermador wall ovens, and on Sub-Zero refrigeration that often shares the same kitchen. We're an independent repair company based in San Jose, about 9 miles southeast of Sunnyvale. We are not affiliated with or endorsed by any of these brands. This page covers what we see most often with wall ovens, how we approach a repair in your home, and what you can check before you call.
Wall oven problems we fix in Sunnyvale homes
Most wall oven calls come down to a handful of symptoms. The cause behind each one can vary, so we test the parts instead of guessing. Here is what homeowners describe most often:
- Oven won't heat, or heats only in one mode such as bake but not broil
- Temperature runs well above or below the setting, or food cooks unevenly
- Door stays locked after a self-clean cycle
- Error codes, a blank display, or touch controls that don't respond
- Convection fan that is noisy, slow, or not turning
- Door that won't close fully, or worn gaskets letting heat escape
- Cooling fan running constantly or not at all
- Oven light, probe, or rack sensor not working

How we diagnose a built-in oven
Wall ovens are built into cabinetry, so a careful repair starts with access. When a part sits behind the cabinet face, we pull the oven forward on its rails and protect the surrounding trim and flooring. We also confirm the oven is properly supported before working on it. Many problems can be checked from the front by removing the door, the back panel, or the control panel.
We check what the oven reports first, including any stored error codes. Then we measure the parts directly: bake and broil elements, the convection element and fan motor, the temperature sensor, the door lock assembly, and the relays on the control board. A temperature complaint is a good example of why this matters. A sensor that has drifted, an element that has partly failed, and a control that isn't switching correctly can all look the same from the outside. Testing tells us which one it is, so you aren't paying for parts that didn't need replacing.
Before we start the repair, we explain what failed and what it will take to fix. If a part has to be ordered, we tell you, and we schedule a return visit to install it.
Wolf, Viking, and Thermador wall ovens
Premium wall ovens share some basic parts, but each brand builds its controls, door locks, and convection systems its own way. Wolf wall ovens are our main focus. We work on both their touch-control and knob-style designs, including double ovens where one cavity works and the other doesn't. Viking and Thermador wall ovens make up much of the rest of our oven work, along with combination units that pair a wall oven with a speed or steam oven.
If your oven is paired with a matching warming drawer, or sits in the same cabinet run as a Sub-Zero refrigerator that is also giving you trouble, let us know when you book. We can plan to look at both on the same visit.

What to check before you schedule
A few simple checks can save you a visit or help us arrive prepared:
- Check the breaker panel. Many double wall ovens are on a dedicated 240-volt circuit, and a tripped breaker can make one oven or both go dead.
- If the door is locked after self-clean, let the oven cool completely. Some locks release on their own once the cavity temperature drops.
- Write down any error code and the model and serial numbers. These are usually printed on a tag visible when the door is open.
- Note which modes work and which don't, such as bake, broil, convection, or the probe.
